Food habits vary from one place to another around the world. Each community has its own ways of preparing it. The dishes we find in North Africa have very little in common with the ones served in England. These differences are due to many factors ; some of them are connected with geographical position of a country. As a result, the populations there don't develop in their culture cooking reaps integrating fish as a basic elements where there is no contact with the sea. The second aspect, the way they feed themselves is linked to the weather. The third element is connected with religion.

Christopher Columbus was born in about 1451 in Italy . In 1476, he went to Portugal. He was the first person who decided to search a direct way to Asia across the Atlantic Ocean. The king of Portugal refused to help him to realize his project. But the Spanish government gave him three boats. He used them in his first trip. It was a very important travel because Columbus discovered America on October 12th 1492.

The Algerians are keen on eating own food. They prefer cooked ones than raw. They dislike preserved food, too. A " Dolma " is a delicious Algerian dish. It's made of rice, potatoes, eggplants, tomatoes and courgettes filled with minced meat and chickpeas. It is usually fried, but sometimes steamed. It is presented hot with a little lemon juice as a main course in a meal.

Mr Rafik El-Hariri was born in Sidon , Lebanon on 1st November 1944. He completed his high school education in 1964 and enrolled ( entered ) in the Arabic University in Beirut. First, he worked as a teacher. Then, he went to Saudi Arabia and joined a company from 1965 to 1969. In 1978, he established his own company (S.C.O.N.E.A.S.T ).
Rafik El-Hariri served as Prime Minister of Lebanon from 1992 to 1998, then again from 2000 until 2004. He founded the Future TV in Beirut in 1993. He was a father of seven children. He was assassinated in a car-bomb in Beirut on Monday 14th February 2005. He died at the age of 59.
